Living Wage Week 2019
Here at the WEA we are really pleased to continue our support in being a living wage employer.
The Living Wage campaign is an independent movement of businesses, organisations and people who believe a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay. Employers choose to pay the real Living Wage on a voluntary basis and it provides an ethical benchmark for responsible pay.
The campaign for a real Living Wage has now delivered more than £1 billion in extra wages to workers since it began in 2001, and it has lifted over 200,000 people out of in-work poverty.
Living Wage Week is a UK-wide celebration of the campaign for a real Living Wage that meets the cost of living and the network of Living Wage employers. The WEA is one of over 5,500 employers who voluntarily opt-in to paying the real Living Wage.
The new UK rate announced by the Living Wage Foundation will come into effect in six months. We are committed to the increase – independently calculated to meet the cost of living.

Living Wage Awareness Week runs from Monday 11th to Sunday 17th November 2019.
