Digital information technologies are increasingly at the heart of educational practice supporting the acquisition of knowledge, skills, and understanding, promoting achievement and enabling lifelong learning. They are not merely useful tools they are becoming central to the education process itself.
However, the accessibility and global nature of the internet and the different digital technologies available mean that we also face risks and challenges arising from the use of these technologies.
The WEA E-Safety Policy explains our approach and principles for helping our students and stakeholder tackle these challenges confidently.
To support our policy the WEA produces guidance for students. We provide support, resources and educational activities for staff, tutors and volunteers to use in WEA activities and we link to appropriate e-learning information from partners to help develop "e-safe practice" by all our stakeholders..
