It’s a great time to join the WEA; we are in a phase of development and growth and as a result we have exciting opportunities to join a busy team in Leeds. Working as a team member the role of Support Centre Assistant is a vital one, providing excellent customer service for our students, and support for our tutors and regional education teams.

Hours: 35 Hours per week (full time), hours will cover 8.00am to 8.00pm Monday to Friday and 8.00am to 1.00pm on Saturdays on a shift pattern basis.  This would comprise of a working pattern as follows:

2 x 8.00am to 4.00pm

2 x 9.00am to 5.00pm

1 x 12.00 to 8.00pm

1 Saturday in every 5 8.00am to 1.00pm (the working pattern for the following week will be adjusted to reflect this)

Description 

The WEA is a charity and the UK’s largest voluntary sector provider of adult education. We are a charity with a strong sense of social purpose, dedicated to bringing great teaching into the heart of local communities. All our educational provision is developed with this in mind and our courses can be set up almost anywhere – for example in clubs, community centres, village halls, schools or where people work. 

Our team provides a ‘customer first’ service and our Support Centre Assistants are vital to this.  As a Support Centre Assistant you will be dealing with all aspects of the Association’s course administration tasks, data entry, taking course booking and dealing with queries and providing support to our students, as well as providing admin support to our tutors and volunteers and other staff,  

Good communication skills, attention to detail and working to a high quality standard and deadlines are essential along with efficient and accurate IT skills.
