Location: Leicester

Part time: 7 hours per week (0.2 FTE) Contract: Fixed term until 31st March 2019

The Workers’ Educational Association [WEA] is an educational charity delivering responsive, relevant and accessible programmes of learning across England and Scotland. Through our vision of employability, health and wellbeing, community engagement and cultural studies, we raise the educational aspirations of local communities.

We are seeking to recruit a Project Manager to lead an ambitious project to deliver Mental Wellbeing Action Research as part of the wider Leicester Aging Together (LAT) programme. The successful candidate will need to have experience of: successful project delivery, including compliance with external funders’ requirements, experience of developing and maintaining strategic partnerships and alliances, as well as a clear understanding of the barriers to mental health faced by older people facing disadvantage and ways to overcome them.  


You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a core leadership team to drive forward delivery using an agreed model and approach; and ensuring that delivery partners are clear on responsibilities and that strategic partners and the wider community is actively engaged. You will be responsible for ensuring completion of all the evidence requirements including impact measurement, collation of data and evidence to support final evaluation, and organising all project networks and meetings.

It is anticipated that the post holder will work closely with a range of stakeholders across LAT partners, community organisations and mental health service provider agencies in Leicester as well as WEA staff and volunteers She/he will be expected to represent the WEA and promote both the Association and the value of adult education in relevant contexts.

We offer generous terms and conditions including 30 days holiday (plus bank holidays), pension scheme – subject to eligibility. Please note holiday entitlement, including bank holidays is pro rata for part time posts.
