Are you a great organiser and communicator with the drive to make things happen? Then you can release people’s potential with an essential and exciting charity.

Who we are

The Workers’ Educational Association is a unique charity and the UK’s largest voluntary sector provider of adult education. With a clear vision and a strong social purpose, we bring great teaching to local communities, with life-changing courses held in clubs, pubs, workplaces, schools and almost anywhere else you can think of. Since 1903, we have been giving disadvantaged people the opportunity to return to learning – inspiring them to realise their full potential and become active, engaged citizens. We see education as a tool for social justice, not just self-improvement, and we pride ourselves on making learning egalitarian and accessible. Volunteers play a central role in everything we do, from governance through to classroom support, helping us deliver courses to 50,000 people in 2,300 locations – and enabling us to reach 80% of the population.

About the role

Partnering our Regional Education Manager, students, tutors and volunteers, you will  support the delivery of our educational activities. We will look to you to balance conflicting priorities, organise and minute management meetings, and communicate effectively with our nationwide team – so you’ll need great relationship building skills and an organised, methodical approach, plus real passion for our crucial work.

About you

We’re keen to expand the diversity of our team, so you could come from almost any walk of life. Ideally you will be experienced within the charity or educational sector, and you will certainly be able to demonstrate great organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail. A high level of IT literacy is a must and you’ll need a good understanding of Marketing, Purchasing, Health & Safety and Safeguarding principles. Above all, you’ll be ready to go the extra mile every day to make things happen and help us transform people and their communities.
