Who we are

The Workers’ Educational Association is a unique charity and the UK’s largest voluntary sector provider of adult education. With a clear vision and a strong social purpose, we bring great teaching to local communities, with life-changing courses held in clubs, pubs, workplaces, schools and almost anywhere else you can think of. Since 1903, we have been giving disadvantaged people the opportunity to return to learning – inspiring them to realise their full potential and become active, engaged citizens. We see education as a tool for social justice, not just self-improvement, and we pride ourselves on making learning egalitarian and accessible. Volunteers play a central role in everything we do, from governance through to classroom support, helping us deliver courses to 50,000 people in 2,300 locations – and enabling us to reach 80% of the population.

About the role

You will be required to provide the HR Administration to the HR Team. You will deal with the day to day recruitment process assisting the recruiters and dealing with the administration. You will also manage the HR inbox, dealing with queries and escalating issues where necessary.
You will deal with all of the on boarding, processing all of the new starters and will also assist with payroll transactions. There will also be an element of generalist HR admin on a day to day basis. The role would be perfect for somebody who is looking to widen their skills in a large team with new challenges.

About you

You will need to have experience in a similar HR administration role and have a knowledge of the HR processes. The role will be highly involved in recruitment and so some experience in the recruitment process would be beneficial. This role requires a hands on approach and requires somebody who can really hit the ground running. It is a fast pace, high volume role and needs somebody who will be comfortable in a busy environment.
