You’re never too old to learn
Debbie and her mum, Margaret are both dyslexic. They both had very negative school experiences and left with no qualifications and low confidence. As a child, Debbie recalls doing the shopping with a note from her Mum – there was no writing; just drawings. For Margaret’s - no one picked up on her dyslexia and she was left unable to read or write.
You’re never too old to learn. I wish I’d heard of the WEA years ago. My life would be so different. The WEA is not a crutch. It’s a Launchpad. There are definitely opportunities for adults to learn - if you’re not afraid to take them.
