Education for its own sake

Students in Herefordshire discuss their passion for learning and their joy in having access to education in their rural communities - “It’s a good space for meeting people with similar interests. All the friends I’ve made here I got to meet through WEA courses…The social aspect is very important. People appreciate the chance to be a part of a friendly group… Learning is a two-way process here.”

Listen to the group as they talk about how they enjoy seeing the opportunities for people to move outside their own little local circles - getting out there and finding what can be learnt, and who they can learn from - in an easy, friendly, accessible way.

I don’t drive anymore and so I can come to these classes and just walk to them.
