The WEA receives funding to subsidise all courses for students in England. So that we can provide courses, all students need to show evidence that they have the right to live in the UK and that they are resident in England. You will need up to three forms of ID as per the table below:

Permanent Residence Card issued by the Home Office to the family member of a national of an EEA country or Switzerland. 

Recent UK bank, building society or credit card statement (issued in last 3 months) 

Student Union Card 

A current Biometric Residence Permit issued by the Home Office indicating that the holder
is allowed to stay in the UK. 

UK bank or building society account opening confirmation letter (issued in last 3 months) 

Union Card 

Current non-UK passport endorsed to show that the holder is exempt from immigration control or is allowed to stay in the UK. 

Recent mortgage or council tax statement (issued in last 12 months) 

Work Security Badge 

A current Immigration Status Document
issued by the Home Officer with an endorsement indicating that the holder is allowed to stay in the UK. 

Central or local government, government agency or local council document issued in the last 3 months showing entitlement to benefits (e.g. from DWP, Job Centre Plus or HMRC), such as: P45/ P40; letter confirming the recipient is registered as unemployed; recent benefits award or decision letter (e.g. ESA, Universal Credit). 

Council-Issued Older Person’s Bus Pass 

Application Registration Card (ARC) or Standard Acknowledgement letter (SAL) 

and a current Asylum Support Agreement from UK Visas and Immigration. (Only applicable to asylum seekers who have lived in the UK for six months or longer.) 

Recent letter from the Home Office addressed to the learner (issued in the last three months) 

Valid UK Biometric Residence Permit 

A current Residence Card (including an Accession Residence Card or Derivative Residence Card) issued by the Home Office to a non-EEA national who is a family member of a national of an EEA country or Switzerland or who has a derivative right of residence. 

Recent letter from the NHS addressed to the learner (issued in the last three months) 

Valid Application Registration Card (ARC)
