Helping navigate life’s difficulties

Victoria’s little boy had a stroke and her life was flipped upside down three years ago. Her son was left with a disability as a result of the stroke and requiring lots of physio and multiple hospital appointments. Home life can be stressful for Victoria who is a full-time carer for her son and studying with The WEA has allowed Victoria to focus on her own needs for a set amount of time a week.

Studying with The WEA is beneficial for my parenting, as it gives me time away from home to be creative and challenge myself in new ways and gives me a much-needed break from my often challenging environment.

I’ve found the social aspect of the courses have been a great way of talking to and forming relationships, which has made me more confident.  When I have finished class I feel re-energised and positive about what I have achieved, and I take this energy back home with me.

The most recent course I am enrolled on is a painting course which has really got my creative juices flowing and is really challenging me! I love it so far! And my little boy has loved getting my paints out too!

Grow Together - Learn Together

When I have finished the class I feel re-energised and positive about what I have achieved, and I take this energy back home with me.
