Education Co-ordinator – English, Maths or ESOL Specialism


Location – TBC (East Midlands Region)

Part-time – 14 hours per week

Contract – Fixed term until 31st July 2017

Salary:  £23,903 (usual starting salary) - £27,427 pro rata for part-time (subject to forthcoming job evaluation and grading process)

The post holder will be responsible for the development and delivery of WEA education in the East Midlands Region in the area of English, Maths and ESOL.  They will work with a range of stakeholders and be able to work to agreed targets in terms of the delivery of course hours, business development opportunities and project outputs. 

The successful candidate will organise education provision, promote learning in the four key themes listed above, line manage a team of tutors and undertake Observations of Teaching, Learning and Assessments (OTLAs).  They will need to attend meetings and be able to effectively disseminate information to their team as appropriate.  An ability to develop, nurture and manage local relationships in the community is also key to this role.

Applicants should be educated to degree level or equivalent and hold an appropriate teaching qualification at level 5 (diploma in Education & Training, PGCE or equivalent) with English, Maths or ESOL specialism.  Within the role there is a need for flexibility with some evening and weekend work as well as travel within the region and potentially the UK.
