This class is for ESOL learners who are currently at Entry 2 and you will need to complete a skills check before joining. After this course, you could move onto the Award in ESOL Skills for Life Writing Entry 2, and continue your journey in the English language.

This course covers essential knowledge for safe driving, including traffic laws, road signs, and driving regulations. Students will learn about defensive driving techniques, understanding road markings, and handling different road conditions. The course includes interactive sessions on hazard perception and mock theory tests to prepare students for the official exam. The course will outline the very basics of what you need to know in order to set up, and start running, a successful arts and crafts business whether creating and selling unique artwork, unique home décor, or jewellery. The course covers how to identify and define your niche within the arts and crafts sector; the basics of pricing products to ensure profitability; key steps to setting up an online shop or selling at local markets; simple marketing techniques to attract customers, including using social media. This course is perfect for beginners and requires no prior business knowledge. By the end of the session, you will have a clear understanding of the first steps needed to launch their arts and crafts venture and make your creative passions profitable.

This micro course is aimed at building community in diverse times and finding collaborative solutions for community issues. On this course you will understand how to use skills to create harmonious living and working environments. On completion of this course you will be awarded the digital badge: Peaceful Communities Advocate which honours individuals who actively promote peace, tolerance and unity within their communities.

What is a muse? How and why has this convention endured for centuries? On this focused course, we explore the identity and representation of the muse through the lives and work of three female artists: Claude Cahun (1894-1954), Eileen Agar (1899-1991) and Isabel Rawsthorne (1912-1992). Each week we focus on one artist, examining their individual backgrounds, training and a range of influences that helped to shape their practice across either painting, photography or sculpture. By exploring their work and artistic intentions we will discuss how the traditional concept of the modern muse was powerfully subverted by each of the artists.

Join us for a guided walk as part of the WEA London Festival Art and About, uncovering the hidden gems of Lambeth. Meeting at 11 AM on 26th June at Lambeth North Station, this fascinating journey will take you beyond the well-known riverside to explore the streets and stories tucked just behind the Thames. Once marshland, this was the first part of the borough to be developed—what traces of its past remain? Who shaped its transformation? Discover the rich history and overlooked corners of Lambeth on this flat walk, which ends near Lambeth Bridge.
