Craft: Handstiching For Beginners
Many people believe that they are no good at sewing and feel frustrated at not being able to repair or improve clothes to give them a longer life. This course will teach you a range of hand stitches which can be used to both repair and embellish clothes. We will also look at the rivalry with the Godwin family against whom King Edward Would find himself opposed later in his reign

During this course your tutor will give you demonstration and individual attention for your guidance. In this course you will be working with a macramé cord and each learner will be able to complete a pot hanger. It can be used by you or can be gifted to the loved ones. This is a continuation of the improvers spring course, but all levels are welcome.

Literature: Five Korean Short Stories
This course will examine five Korean short stories and function as a taster-course to Korean literature in general, which has recently come to the fore with the award of the Nobel Prize to Han Kang. It will serve to broaden your appreciation of until recently a minority literature.
We will analyse those elements which have contributed to Korea’s distinctive contribution to world literature in the last 100 years, and discuss the relationship between a politically troubled history and creativity, discovering as we do a range of male and female voices.
There will be ample opportunities for discussion in what will be lively sessions.
