Our Multiply: Strategies for Maths L1 Exams course is designed to help learners build the skills and confidence needed to succeed in the Level 1 Maths exam. This course focuses on effective exam strategies, covering key topics such as arithmetic, data handling, and problem-solving. Learners will work through a range of practice exercises and exam-style questions, building their understanding and improving their exam technique. By the end of the course, learners will have a clear strategy for approaching the exam and the confidence to tackle a variety of questions successfully.

This creative writing course aims to boost your imagination, help you to generate vivid ideas that will have you drift from image to pen. You'll be introduced to a range of photos - portrait, street, nature, city and more - to activate and tease out a story. In class you'll stories and share with others to further spark your imagination and feel inspired. The tutor offers verbal feedback and also written feedback on one submitted piece over the course. This Maths course is funded for learners who are already employed or who are on a vocational programme working towards employment in a specific sector. This course is for West Midlands Combined Authority residents. This Multiply Maths for Construction Workers course builds essential numeracy skills tailored for those in or aspiring to join the construction sector. Spanning six 2-hour sessions, this course covers practical applications such as measurement conversions, area and perimeter calculations, and mixing ratios, all within a construction context. By focusing on real-world examples, learners gain confidence using maths to enhance accuracy and efficiency in their work. This course is funded by West Midlands Combined Authority.

This course examines the century that shaped England, bookended by arguably England’s worst King, John, and one of its greatest, Edward I. The century began with England's integral of a vast continental empire that stretched from the Scottish borders to the foothills of the Pyrenees. The 13th century began for England with the reign of King John, who lost his continental empire and almost lost his throne to a baronial revolt against his rule and an invasion of England by the French. One hundred and thirty years later, John’s great-grandson did lose his Kingdom to an invasion led by his wife, Isabella, to overthrow him and replace him on the throne. The intervening years were no less dramatic: years of baronial unrest, Magna Carta, and the growing influence of foreigners around King Henry III culminating in the rebellion of Simon de Montfort and the Baron's War against the King in the 1260s. The England that we know, its governance and institutions were shaped during these 130 years of the calamitous thirteenth century.

This course will introduce the learner to accessible and generative journaling exercises to explore their writer’s mindset and process and help them plan and think more deeply through expressive writing about their work in progress. Journaling can help with developing a positive mindset: to keep motivated after rejection; It can also help develop confidence as you free-write and keep up momentum rather than ponder and choose the right word. Journaling can also be used for planning and going deeper into your thoughts and ideas about your current piece of writing.
