This adult English course helps you develop your language skills through real-life situations. Functional Skills level 1 is a government-funded accredited English course for adults. Functional Skills qualifications are free if you don't already have a GCSE in English or Maths at grades A*-C, or 4-9. We'll check your level and any previous qualifications before you start. This ensures you are on the correct course.

Writing Life is a stimulating and supportive creative non fiction writing class. Learn writing techniques to help your real-life stories come alive on the page. Using a variety of prompts from photos and also published stories, you'll have time to write and share. The tutor will give written feedback on one submission during the course.

The Crafting for the Community course is designed to empower learners to use their creative skills to make a positive impact within their local community. This hands-on program combines artistic expression with community engagement, encouraging learners to collaborate on projects that address local needs and foster social connections, learning a variety of crafts.

This short course will look at archaeological evidence to provide an introduction to the impact of the Roman Empire in the east of Egypt.

Learners from the GRF E2 S&L course will be progressed to GRF E2 reading course.

This qualification is designed for learners looking to increase their knowledge & awareness of Mental Health & Well-Being. This qualification is to help you to develop your awareness of issues surrounding mental health and to become aware of the rights of those with mental health issues. The main objectives of this qualification are to: • raise awareness of the issues surrounding mental health Course Outline Accredited 2024-25 Mental Health Awareness Level 1 (Award) CACHE • dispel some of the myths and misconceptions frequently linked to mental health issues • develop learners’ knowledge of the rights of those with mental health issues This course will delivered either online, or in a face-to-face classroom environment, with a variety of Classroom activities and online learning activities through the Canvas platform, to assess learning for each module. The overall course will be assessed through the creation of a portfolio of evidence that meets awarding body criteria. A potential progression route after this course may be the “Stress Awareness Level 1 (Award) CACHE” or the “Level 2 Certificate in Mental Health Awareness NCFE CACHE” qualifications

Beatrix Potter was born in 1866 in London. She had a natural talent for art and a passion for animals and nature. We will look at how this woman made her way as an artist in what was considered to be a mans world at the time . The course will be delivered by power point presentation and lecture , handouts will be given where appropriate. The session is tailored to allow learners the opportunity to consolidate their learning as the course is delivered by discussion of their learning outcomes and opinions in a friendly and engaging environment and there will be fun group activities during the course to check on understanding and learning.

The CV writing workshop will empower Department for Work and Pensions claimants to create a new CV or update an existing CV with the help of an experienced tutor. You will learn the basic concepts and importance of an effective CV, ensuring that it includes personal details, information on education, work experience, key skills and references. Where appropriate you will receive support to tailor CVs to specific job roles with a view to improve prospects for being invited for an interview. It will be an opportunity to obtain individual feedback, review drafted CVs and address any individual queries and concerns.
