Gain essential knowledge and skills to support children’s development and well-being in a school or college setting. This course will introduce you to key areas such as child development, safeguarding practices, and the importance of diversity, equality, and inclusion in education. You will also gain insight into the daily operations of educational institutions and the variety of roles available within them. Throughout the course, your tutor will assess your learning through engaging tasks such as creating leaflets, charts, diagrams, or information boards. Once you have completed the Introduction course, you can then progress onto our Level 1 Award in Preparing To work in Schools. This qualification prepares you for a range of school and college-based roles, including: ✔️ Learning Assistant ✔️ Technical Support Worker ✔️ Classroom Volunteer ✔️ Administrative Worker ✔️ Other On-Site Roles To fully participate, you will need internet access to use the WEA’s digital learning platform, Canvas, where tutors will provide important resources and assignments. An introduction to the rich history of painting in Spain, which had produced some of the most important and influential artists in art history - from Baroque masters Velázquez, El Greco, and Murillo to romantic figurehead Goya and impressionist Sorolla to the vital role Spanish painters like Dalí, Picasso and Miró played in the development of 20th Century Art.

Participants will explore a variety of hands-on crafts such as painting, collage, textile work, and journaling, all aimed at reducing stress and enhancing self-expression. This course will cover the changing currents of the ways in which the Visual Arts in Britain have evolved over the Twentieth Century. It will be broken into 4 parts; the pre 1914 period, the War and its aftermath, the post WW2 years and lastly the period 1980 onwards. The foci will be on changing relationships with international art, the impact of the Wars on art; and also how art maps in in relation to evolving concerns about equality and in relation to rapid urban and social change

This online interactive course will help you learn some of the useful vocabulary related to Driving Theory and will allow you to understand the main driving rules in the UK. You will have access to the official DVLA website to practise as well as suggested materials in Canvas (our online learning platform). One face to face session will take place on March 11th at a veue to be confirmed.
