Course overview

Are you looking for your first job, or maybe thinking about your next job? This short and friendly one day workshop will give you the opportunity to learn key skills for job-seeking and work including; how to write a CV that reflects your skills and talents; the best ways to complete application forms; how to prepare for and take part in job interviews; and understanding the expectations of employers in the workplace. You will have the opportunity to discuss your progress with your tutor and there will be lots of top tips to ensure that you feel confident in your next job application! We will also ensure that you leave the workshop having applied for some jobs in the area that you are interested in, to help you get started on your journey to finding your dream job.

Course description

This course is designed to support learners to develop the skills needed to get that interview and then the job!

This is a face to face workshop in Birmingham, designed to help residents within the West Midlands get the job they’re looking for in the local area.

Learners will have support from tutors who will work with you to improve your skills and present yourself in the best possible way to employers and during job interviews.

The workshop will cover how to write great CVs and application forms, and how to plan for and take part in effective job interviews and understanding workplace expectations when you’ve secured that job!

This is a face to face workshop at our WEA Birmingham office, so you will be required to travel to attend.

What financial support is available?

We don't want anything to stand in your way when it comes to bringing Adult learning within reach so if you need anything to support you to achieve your goals then speak to one of our education experts during your enrolment journey. Most of our courses are government funded but if you don't qualify or need alternative financial help to access them then let us know.
