Course overview

This course will help you understand the best places to look for work and explore employment opportunities, looking at least 5 different methods to find job adverts. We will look at job advertisements in detail and help you understand the information contained within an advert. It will also give you a better understanding of what types of employment there are and what they mean, help you understand what you may be entitled to if you are working on a contract and will also assist you in navigating your pay / wage slip and understand the information contained within it. Course description

If you want to find a job, or already have a job but want to progress, this course will help you identify the different places you can look for work and methods you can use to seek employment. It will give you a good understanding of reading and understanding job adverts and locating the important information within job adverts and the parts you need to fully understand.

The course will also enable you to differentiate between the different types of employment / contract available and understand what they mean and the differences between them allowing you to make an informed decision as to which may be better for you and your circumstances, as well as be able to understand your rights according to your specific contract.

When you have found a job and are in employment, it is important to know and understand the information on your pay / wage slip so the course will give you a general understanding of the main information on this document, including tax, national insurance, holiday and sick pay.

If you are in work or looking for work, this course can help you gain a general understanding of the world of work.
