Personal Development: Preparing for the Citizenship Test

The course will cover important laws and acts, historical events, important people, cultural and social behaviours of the UK. Most importantly we will look at many exam questions and practice these both as a group and individually.

Any one applying for Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK or British Citizenship must be prepared to take the ‘Life in the UK’ exam. The test now required under the Nationality, Immigration and Asylum Act 2002 shows your knowledge of British life. You will find out about eligibility and the application process; understand what is required to pass the exam; improve your knowledge of the UK; practice your English through informal activities and discussion and mock exam questions to help improve your English and confidence.  

You will need access to a laptop, or smartphone, and the internet to access the weekly online group learning sessions.

You will also need a minimum of Entry 2 or 3 English to participate in this course. If you have not already had a skills assessment to check your English level we can arrange this and refer you to suitable preparation courses so that you can reach this level.
