Course overview
Course description
WEA are working in partnership with the DWP in specific areas to deliver this pre-employment programme designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge to work in Social Care. The course will cover key elements of the New Adult Social Care Pathway (which all social care workers must undertake), it will support you to write a CV and prepare for interviews and it also includes a work placement at the end of the training.
You must live in Bradford, or Stockton- on-Tees and be referred from the DWP to apply for this course.
The placement is arranged in accordance with your preferences in role, as well as location. We will be learning together as a committed team, with some fun along the way. Once you have completed all of your online training, you will then undergo your voluntary placement in a social care setting – this is designed like a working interview, to give you the opportunity to try out the working environment! If you are happy with the employer, and the working interview goes successfully, this will then turn into a paid role with that employer.
