Entry Levels 1,2,3: If you have never studied this subject before and you’re not confident in your skills, Entry levels are a good starting point.
Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.
Beginners: A perfect introduction if you have no experience and skills in this subject.
Improvers: The next step if you have basic skills or knowledge but want to progress them further.
Advanced: Build on the solid experience and skills you have in this subject, applying your skills and knowledge in a more complex way.

Course description
"The Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning course covers all topics you will need to become a more confident teaching assistant.
You will improve your knowledge in supporting children and young people in a variety of educational settings and make an impact on their education and development.
Alongside the classroom experience you will also complete a work placement in a classroom setting during which you will gain real life experience. This will also give you an insight into how rewarding it can be to work with children and young people. This will also give you an opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and skills in a learning environment.
The course is assessed continuously so you will be able to reflect on the points delivered during the sessions and receive support where required. You will also be observed during your work placement.
During the course you improve your knowledge of:
• Working with children and young people during learning, play and extra-curricular activities in the classroom and, during school trips and events
• How to best support children with special educational needs
• Promoting positive behaviour and learning techniques
• Safeguarding in a variety of settings
• Supporting assessment of learning
• Your own personal development which will include reflective practice
