Entry Levels 1,2,3: If you have never studied this subject before and you’re not confident in your skills, Entry levels are a good starting point.
Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.

Course description
"Introduction to Early Years Practitioner" is a comprehensive beginner's course that provides essential knowledge and skills for those interested in early childhood education and care. This course is perfect for individuals who are new to the field and want to build a strong foundation in understanding the needs and development of young children from birth to 7 years old, with a particular emphasis on the critical early years (0-5 years).
Throughout the course, you will gain a deep understanding of safeguarding procedures and how to keep children safe in Early Years settings. You’ll explore key aspects of health and safety, ensuring you are well-prepared to create a secure environment for babies and young children. Additionally, the course covers the importance of safeguarding, protection, and welfare, equipping you with the knowledge to support the well-being of all children in your care.
Special attention is given to supporting the needs of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring inclusive practices in your future role. Moreover, you will learn how to promote play, an essential element in the development and learning of young children.
Upon successful completion, you will be ready to progress to a Level 2 Qualification in Early Years Practitioner with WEA, leading to further opportunities in the early childhood education sector.
