Entry Levels 1,2,3: If you have never studied this subject before and you’re not confident in your skills, Entry levels are a good starting point.
Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.
Beginners: A perfect introduction if you have no experience and skills in this subject.
Improvers: The next step if you have basic skills or knowledge but want to progress them further.
Advanced: Build on the solid experience and skills you have in this subject, applying your skills and knowledge in a more complex way.

Course description
This course will give you the background knowledge and confidence to become an effective helper in school and/or to help your children’s learning at home.
This course is aimed at those who would like to progress into work or volunteering in an educational setting and could lead onto an accredited Level 2 award in support work in schools or help to find work in a school or any educational setting.
The course will focus on supporting children with their reading, maths, English and homework and what kind of strategies to use. It will look at children’s development through play and how best to support their development.
You will learn about legislation and safeguarding practices such as keeping children safe in education. Learn about practical strategies for encouraging children’s social, emotional and behavioural development to support them through school.
This course will give you the essential knowledge and confidence to work effectively in any educational setting.
