Course overview

The aim of this qualification is to teach you the essential digital skills that are needed for everyday life, and in the workplace. Over the duration of the course, we will touch upon different Microsoft pincluding Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Knowing how to use these is often desirable of most employers, so this will be a great addition to your CV if you are hunting for a job. Digital skills are also convenient to have for life in general. For example, Excel is ideal for budgeting and Word can be used if you would like to start writing a book, create invitations to an event, or can be used for homework. Located in a friendly and relaxed environment, this course is a great chance to learn something new and meet new people who are on the same journey.

Course description

This course will give you the confidence to use digital skills in your everyday life, and also in the workplace. This Level 1 course is suitable for improvers, as you will build upon your current digital device knowledge. You will learn and practice how to use the Microsoft Office programmes. This includes creating and editing text documents in Word, creating spreadsheets and using number calculations in Excel, and using PowerPoint to create presentations.

You will also learn how to stay safe online, communicate appropriately online for life and work, how to store files and folders including using cloud storage and how to overcome common problems that occur on digital devices. You will be able to practice using these digital skills in a safe and supportive learning environment, which will increase your confidence and allow you to use digital devices effectively in both your life and work.
