Course description

This course is about discovering the joys of a new emerging season, springtime in their own locality. Students will be assisted by the tutor and supported by classroom volunteers from the venue to develop basic digital skills and research skills to explore the seasonal events and the new emerging flora and fauna that occur in springtime. They will develop an understanding of nature in relation to plants and animals and weather that we can expect to see. They will be encouraged to use digital solutions to develop or improve their basic digital skills and research skills for finding information, images and videos. They will share information and their general knowledge, ideas and suggestions about their findings and they will provide evidence in written, visual and verbal formats to meet the learning outcomes. As Foresight is an organisation committed to taking care of adults with learning difficulties and/or disabilities students will work collaboratively, sharing ideas, participating in group discussions and supporting each other as peers, thereby combatting social isolation. Also, and as its catchphrase logo suggests, taking the ‘dis’ out of disability for generations of Scunthorpe residents who have attended Foresight.
