Course overview
Course description
During this course you will discover ways to support your child’s education in the UK.
You will learn about the methods teachers use to develop children’s English (reading and writing), maths, topic and communication skills. You will think about ways you can help your own child with learning at home (including homework).
This help you improve your understanding of how schools communicate information (including children’s progress and test results) to parents or carers. You will learn ways to become more involved in your child’s school community. You will develop your own study and digital skills. It will give you the opportunity to discuss your ideas and experiences of UK schools and to ask questions of each other.
Throughout your course, you will:
State what your goal is in doing the course.
Use at least 1 phoneme in words (phonics for reading and/or writing).
Describe at least 1 way that you could help your child develop maths skills at home.
List at least 1 way you could find information you need from school.
State at least 1 way you could become involved with your children’s school.
