Course overview
Course description
This mat-based course will focus on a range of yoga practices.
You will learn intermediate yoga poses that will continue to develop your flexibility, strength and balance, building on your existing practice of foundational yoga poses.
Yoga breathing techniques will be taught to develop control of the breath and focus the mind, including alternate nostril breathing practices, and other balancing or calming techniques.
The course will cover meditation techniques to focus the mind and improve concentration, and relaxation techniques to rest and restore the body and mind.
We will also cover elements of yoga philosophy that will enhance your understanding of the purpose, practice and benefits of yoga.
Additional Information;
This is a mat-based class, so learners need to be able to get up and down off the floor.
Learners will need to complete a health questionnaire and participate in a short one to one Zoom session with the tutor in advance of the course starting, to ensure the course is safe and suitable for them.
Students will need to provide their own non slip yoga mat and wear comfortable clothing that allows them to move freely. Extra layers of clothing and a blanket will provide warmth during relaxation. Sometimes blocks or yoga straps may be used but alternatives can be suggested.
Students will need enough space to roll out their mat and set up their camera so that the tutor can view their practice.
