Course overview

This is a course for an LLDD group at Vicarage Court Care home. This course is suitable for beginners and anyone who wants to improve their fitness and participate in gentle exercises. Your tutor will demonstrate a range of movements to include the upper and lower body, and also show you how you can adapt any movements to suit your capability and individuality. You will prepare your body first by participating in a range of warm-up movements, followed by gentle stretches to enable flexibility. During this course you will experience the following effects and benefits: Increased energy level, gain confidence in your exercise routine, improved mobility in joints, build strength and flexibility in your muscles, increased blood flow bringing oxygen and nutrients to your body, increased awareness of how your mind and body feel during exercise, increased heart rate and breathing, a feeling of overall well-being.

Course description

This is a course for an LLDD group at Vicarage Court Care home. This is a gentle exercise course which focuses on the mind and body whilst improving fitness and well-being. You will gain confidence and develop your skills by practising a variety of gentle movements to strengthen the upper and lower body. Your mind will connect with your body while participating in a range of movements which will be adapted to suit you.

Some movements will help you with your posture and in some cases improve flexibility. These exercises are slow and repetitive and are demonstrated by your tutor who can help you with any modifications. At the end of the course, you could build on your fitness and do another exercise class or try something different. Your tutor will provide you with additional information regarding future courses and progression.
