Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.
Beginners: A perfect introduction if you have no experience and skills in this subject.
Improvers: The next step if you have basic skills or knowledge but want to progress them further.

Course description
Planning for Christmas
Use your skills for daily life, at home and at work.
Week 1 Day 1
The aim of this course is to explore and understand your creative style, there is no right or wrong in in your creativity and all you need is your imagination for this task and your ability to apply the rule of math. You will work in a relaxed setting whilst at the same time improving and upskilling math skills and gaining more confidence to use numeracy in your everyday life. The first day will focus on Christmas Menus using budgeting to ensure from the start that you know how much you want to spend on your Christmas food and drink. This will focus your mind on when and where you will do your shopping.
Day 2
The following day we will look at some recipes and plan the quantities of ingredients you may need to buy to produce your delicious festive table.
Week 2 Day 3
It has been planned to make some festive cards using measurement and dimension to create a variety of cards of all shapes and sizes. This session, again, will allow you to use your artistic flare to create cards for your family and friends, and best of all they will be your creations and cost virtually nothing to produce. We will use comparisons between the costs of commercially produced cards and what it costs in producing recycled cards and the equipment needed to fulfil this.
