Healthy Living: Online Yoga to improve Coordination and Balance

This online yoga course is designed to improve coordination and balance through a series of targeted poses and exercises. Poor balance and coordination can negatively impact daily life and overall well-being, undermining our confidence and making us more prone to falls and injuries. During this course, learners will practice a range of asana sequences, learning to coordinate movement with their breathing- helping to focus the mind and improve body awareness. They will practice simple balancing poses, modified to ensure participation of all, improving their overall balance as well as core strength. They will learn to recognise that balancing their weight is a key aspect of good alignment in all postures, our key theme will be to focus on the relationship between a steady body and steady mind. The course will include pranayama, meditation and Yoga Nidra to improve inner balance and clarity, supporting positive mental well-being. By the end of their course learners will be able to identify one posture in which they have improved their physical balance, reflecting on how improved physical balance supports steadiness of the mind.
