Course overview

This course will be delivered through a combination of hands-on drumming sessions, interactive workshops, guided listening sessions, cultural explorations, and performances. Participants will have access to a variety of drums and instruments for hands-on learning and practice. Learners will explore the rich diversity of musical traditions and cultures through drumming develop foundational rhythmic skills and techniques on various percussion instruments.

Course description

This course offers an immersive journey into music appreciation through the art of drumming, providing students with a unique opportunity to explore diverse rhythms, cultures, and musical traditions from around the world. Through hands-on drumming sessions, interactive workshops, guided listening sessions, and cultural explorations, participants will deepen their understanding and appreciation of music while honing their rhythmic skills on various percussion instruments. Emphasis will be placed on experiential learning, creative expression, and cross-cultural understanding, fostering a deeper connection to music as a universal language of expression and communication.

Learners develop teamwork and communication skills through collaborative drumming activities and gain insight into the role of drumming in different cultural and social contexts.
