Course overview
Course description
Develop your songwriting skills in a supportive online group. This course is for those who have started writing songs before (both melody and lyrics) and want to get them finished and recorded!
We will explore what criteria are needed to declare a song 'finished', as well as taking inspiration from existing songs and music theory to ensure the songs we have written are the best they can be.
We will also put together a track on SoundTrap or other software of your choice.
Please note: This is an intermediate level course and requires existing skills in order to take part.
To take part in this course, you must have:
- Capacity to write both music and lyrics for a song. Basic skills on a keyboard would be ideal, but other instruments or computer software could also be utilised.
- Basic singing skills to create a vocal melody.
- Access to a computer or laptop during the classes in order to use free recording software.
Your tutor will undertake an initial assessment with you at the start of the course to confirm suitability.
