Course overview
Course description
If you are interested in dedicating time and space to reading and writing poetry this course is for you. It will provide you with a friendly, nurturing and fun place even if you feel a little shy of poetry.
In the course you will be:
· lead in a guided meditation which help you to explore how poems can open up new ways of thinking, feeling and being in the world.
· practice noticing and appreciating and mindfully entering a poem, with alertness, curiosity and open-hearted responsiveness similar to that of the attention we cultivate in meditation.
· be guided in a series of exercises involving writing and personal reflection.
There will be a place to share your experiences in a supported community which will give you the opportunity to practice being seen and heard, which will develop your self confidence and give you the opportunity to explore meaning in your life.
Openness is encouraged but you won’t be asked to share more than you are comfortable with. Come practice with us, you are welcome!
Once completed, there is a continuation course called FORM and FEELING in poetry.
