This course examines a selection of Edgar Allan Poe's writing, from short fiction to poetry, and traces the impact of his writing on a variety of genres including detective fiction, horror, narrative poetry and lyrical ballads. Texts to be studied include The Murders in the Rue Morgue, The Pit and the Pendulum , Annabel Lee and The Raven. Everyone is invited to join this fascinating course.
