Calling all fiction writers! Get inspired, get motivated, get writing more! Join this fantastic six week course to explore different writing forms and enjoy the structure and discipline of a regular class and share your writing with your peers if you wish. Who is it for: For writers who have started writing! Writing fiction, short or long form. If you’ve started writing but could do with the structure and discipline of a regular class, then this is the class for you! We’ll read a variety of stories, have a spotlight on craft each and write and share (if you want) our work in class. We’ll look at different forms of writing – short story, flash fiction, micro and vignette. Get inspired, get motivated, get writing more!

Calling all fiction writers! Get inspired, get motivated, get writing more!

Join this fantastic six week course to explore different writing forms and enjoy the structure and discipline of a regular class and share your writing with your peers if you wish.

• Week one: My Inner Writer; My Style and Influences; Reading mentor text for inspiration and practice.

• Week two: Dynamics of desire: what makes a story; characterisation and obstacles = tension

• Week three: Creative writing techniques: metaphor, simile. Personification. Practise with creative forms and their effect.

• Week four: Dialogue and m making dialogue further the plot will be the focus for week four.

• Week five will explore Forms of writing such as short story, flash, micro

• Week six: Finally in week 6 we will look at 'My strengths as a writer; sources of inspiration'

By the end of this course you will have the opportunity to try three creative writing techniques in a short story and gain feedback from tutor and peers to work on.
