A History of Ideas course introducing learners to important figures and ideas in history, philosophy and literature
Course description
Read and understand texts by famous thinkers and writers from different centuries. We will be looking at the work of: Aristotle and Virtue Ethics; Stoicism; Grotius and the birth of the nation-state; Locke, Rousseau and Education; The Industrial Revolution; the English Romantic poets; the rise of the dectective story.
