Course description
To provide an overview of Spain's history, stretching from pre-historic times to the present day, with a look at the varied regions that comprise the Spanish peninsula Course description: Spain's history reflects its location at the edge of Europe, on teh Mediterranean and its proximity to Africa. The home of the first hominids recorded on the planet, and later occupied by Greeks, Romans, Goths, Moors and most recently governed by the longest surviving Dictator in Europe. Spain's geography and history means that each of its regions is very distinct. Spain ' Discovered' the New World and that had an effect on its people adn society as well as opening opportunities. The course will combine a look at the history from prehistoric times to the present day, combined with a view of the distinct regions of the Penninsula, and other issues, that make Spain one of Europe's ost interesting countries.
