Course overview
Course description
This intermediate course will move on to explore key characters and events of the period. We will explore the grandeur of Sasanian imperial architecture and identify main features of that architecture. The course will also be an opportunity to investigate the characteristics of the White Huns. We will also look at the reasons for the importance of Armenia in the 5th Century, and analyse the importance of Mazdak's doctrines for Persian Society.
This is an online course with an experienced tutor. There will be clear learning outcomes which will enable learners to chart their progress of knowledge over this fascinating period. There will be an opportunity for group discussion, individual research and activities, in order to bring this fascinating era alive.
Learners are encouraged to research the period either through reading material or other forms of media. Although this is not mandatory it may certainly whet your appetite for the course itself and enrich learner contribution.
