Everyone likes a display of colour as Spring emerges and the sun starts to warm the frosted ground. There is nothing that lifts the mood more than seeing a line of daffodils blowing happily in the wind. On this one-off session with experienced gardener Debbie Young, we will look at the best bulbs to plant for a graduated Spring show. You will be able to recognise how to spot the best bulbs to buy of the highest quality and the diseases that may affect them. You will learn the eco-way of planting the bulbs that will protect them and enhance their chances of flowering successfully. You will also learn about the ‘lasagne’ pot technique for if you want to try something different or for those who don’t have a garden to plant bulbs, but want a display on their patio or balcony.
We will also look at pest control and how to stop squirrels, badgers and foxes from digging them up. This will be an interactive course, there will be a little group work as well as demonstrations and the chance to ask questions. There may even be a ‘game’ or two…
