This pre entry ESOL course will cover reading, writing and speaking the numbers 11-20, the letters of the alphabet in upper and lower case, talking about feelings and what you like or dislike and using letter sounds to help read words.
This course is a progression course for learners who have completed pre entry 1. If you haven't successfully completed pre-entry 1 you will need to do an initial assessment to check this course is at the right level for you.
- There are 26 letters of the alphabet you will learn how to read, write and say these letters in upper and lower case. Upper case letters are called capitals and are used at the start of a sentence and for the first letter of words that are names.
- How to talk about your feelings, for example I feel happy, I feel sad, I feel hot, I feel cold, I feel poorly, My forehead feels hot, I feel shivery, my foot hurts, I feel sick.
- How to talk about what you like and dislike, for example I like my children, I like coming to class, I don't like cleaning, I like being outside in the sunshine, I don't like being outside in the rain or the snow,
- Each letter has a sound to go with it, you will learn how to use these initial letter sounds to help you to read words.
