  • Express your likes, dislikes, and feelings

  • Understand and follow instructions.

This is a preparation course for the ESOL entry 1 speaking and listening qualification. It is not an accredited course.

The aim of this programme is to help you start your ESOL classes with the prior knowledge you’ll need.

Get ready for ESOL entry 1 speaking and listening is an English course for adults. You will develop basic verbal communication skills. It’s aimed at complete beginners so you don’t need any prior knowledge to sign up.

Before you can enrol on this course, you’ll do a skills check. Don’t worry, this isn’t an exam. It’s for us to make sure you get on the right course for your level. Our friendly team will contact you to start your skills check as part of your booking.

When you complete this introductory course, you will be ready to take the ESOL entry 1 speaking and listening course.

There are “get ready” courses between each module to prepare you for the next course.

What to expect

This get ready for ESOL course takes around 40 hours to complete. It gives you more opportunities to learn the communication skills required for an entry 1 speaking and listening qualification.

Please note that you’ll need an internet connection to study this English course for beginners. This is so you can access our digital learning platform, Canvas.
