Entry Levels 1,2,3: If you have never studied this subject before and you’re not confident in your skills, Entry levels are a good starting point.
Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.
Beginners: A perfect introduction if you have no experience and skills in this subject.
Improvers: The next step if you have basic skills or knowledge but want to progress them further.

Course description
This course is an introduction for ESOL learners to the skills and language of using money, budgeting, and understanding bills and other information about money.
You will learn the language and communication skills needed to understand what you are spending and to explain what how you want to use your money. You will also learn the skills and language needed to understand, discuss, and explain:
• Dates and times, calendars and timetables
• Money and budgeting
• Day-to-day practical situations like shopping, travel, and planning meals
• Bills and other documents about money
• Common everyday skills like measuring, weighing, and estimating, and
• How to make your money stretch a little bit further!
You will be helped to talk about different strategies and ideas about how to spend, save, and budget and learn from others.
Supported by a dedicated tutor and working in a small group of learners, this short two-lesson course is ideal for anyone currently studying ESOL who wants to increase their skills, knowledge, confidence, and ability to understand and explain how they want to use their money.
This course can lead to a longer budgeting course to take your understanding further.
This course is supported by the Government-funded Multiply programme and is free to learners with a West Sussex postcode.
