Course overview

This 5 week course is set at intermediate, (B1 & B2) level and is designed for those whose first language is not English. This friendly and supportive course aims to help you to improve your reading, writing, speaking and listening skills in English. We will use the topics of life and work balance, gender differences and employment to explore various aspects of grammar and skills at this level. You will also have the opportunity to explore areas of English that you want to cover, or practice outside of the set course.

Course description

In this friendly and supportive 5 week ESOL course, (English for Speakers of Other Languages) you will be given the opportunity to practice your reading, writing, speaking and listening skills in English through the topics of life and work balance, gender differences and employment. During these interactive, fun and interesting group sessions, you will be helped to to improve your English grammar and we will focus on learning around quantifiers, articles, gerunds and infinitives. In addition to this, we will also make a review of other grammar structures, which are of interest to you and to other class members. We will also spend some time concentrating on other areas, during the course, such as pronunciation including vowel and consonant sounds and sentence and word stress. During these interactive classes, you will be encouraged to engage regularly in discussions, take part in pair work, participate in games, as well as written and verbal exercises. You will also be set a written assignment, during which you will be helped to write your own CV and cover letter.

Most of our courses are government funded but if you don't qualify or need.
