Entry Levels 1,2,3: If you have never studied this subject before and you’re not confident in your skills, Entry levels are a good starting point.
Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.
Beginners: A perfect introduction if you have no experience and skills in this subject.
Improvers: The next step if you have basic skills or knowledge but want to progress them further.
Advanced: Build on the solid experience and skills you have in this subject, applying your skills and knowledge in a more complex way.

This is a targeted wrap-around course for Entry 3 ESOL learners. It is designed to lead on to study on a vocational care course. It is not an accredited course.
The aim of this programme is to help you learn the specialist vocabulary and employability skills related to care work.
ESOL for Care Work is a vocational ESOL course for adults already studying with Stockport Continuing Education Service.
Before you can enrol on this course, you’ll do a skills check. Don’t worry, this isn’t an exam. It’s for us to make sure you get on the right course for your level. Our friendly team will contact you to start your skills check as part of your booking.
When you complete this introductory course, you will be ready to move on to a vocational care pathway or to continue your ESOL journey at Level 1.
What to expect
This course takes 72 hours to complete. It gives you more opportunities to learn the skills required to progress into care work.
