Entry Levels 1,2,3: If you have never studied this subject before and you’re not confident in your skills, Entry levels are a good starting point.
Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.
Beginners: A perfect introduction if you have no experience and skills in this subject.
Improvers: The next step if you have basic skills or knowledge but want to progress them further.
Advanced: Build on the solid experience and skills you have in this subject, applying your skills and knowledge in a more complex way.
Course overview
Course description
The course is run by a qualified and experienced ESOL tutor. It runs twice a week for 5 hours per week. The course is 75 hours in total. The course is running Monday and Wednesday evenings 6.30pm to 9pm.
The course will focus on building the learner’s advanced vocabulary development, formal language skills, confidence building, professional etiquette and job or university application skills.
By the end of the course, learners will be able to;
1. Understand main points of clear, standard speech on familiar matters encountered in work, school, and leisure.
2. Follow detailed instructions and more complex conversations on familiar topics.
3. Identify specific details and infer meaning from context in spoken texts, such as news reports, instructions, and narratives.
4. Communicate and exchange information effectively in routine tasks and familiar situations.
5. Take part in conversations on familiar topics, expressing personal opinions and ideas.
Learners will complete a diagnostic assessment at the start of the course where the tutor can identify areas or weakness and development, this will then inform the course content and the course will focus on developing these skills and the learner’s overall confidence in the professional environments available to them here in the UK.
