Entry Levels 1,2,3: If you have never studied this subject before and you’re not confident in your skills, Entry levels are a good starting point.
Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.
Beginners: A perfect introduction if you have no experience and skills in this subject.
Improvers: The next step if you have basic skills or knowledge but want to progress them further.
Advanced: Build on the solid experience and skills you have in this subject, applying your skills and knowledge in a more complex way.

Understand and answer basic questions with who, when, what, where, why, and how
Talk about yourself in the past, present, and future
Ask questions to get information you need in everyday situations
Understand what other people think and feel in a simple conversation
This is an ESOL skills for life entry 2 course for adults. You will develop your speaking and listening skills so that you can take part in a variety of interactions.
You need some basic knowledge to take this course, that’s why you’ll need to do a skills check to enrol. Don’t worry, this isn’t an exam. It’s for us to make sure you get on the right course for you.
Our friendly team will contact you to start your skills check as part of your booking.
When you complete this module, you can continue with other entry 2 ESOL courses. Once you finish the reading, writing, and speaking & listening courses, you can progress to entry 3 level.
There are also “Get Ready” courses between each module to prepare you for the next course.
What to expect
This speaking and listening ESOL course takes around 110 hours to complete.
Please note that you’ll need an internet connection to study this ESOL course. This is so you can learn English through our digital learning platform, Canvas.
