Course overview
Course description
We will use everyday situations like travel and transport, house and home, health and going shopping to learn new words and practise reading. This will help you to use and understand English you can see in application forms, letters (e.g. from a child's school, doctor, job centre, or landlord) and information in public places. This could help you to find a job, join in with local groups or activities, or feel more independent in your everyday life.
What we’ll cover:
- Learn to identify common English words in everyday situations.
- Understand signs, symbols and texts you will come across.
- Read information about timetables, prices, and schedules.
- Understand the purpose of different texts, including adverts, posters, and news articles.
- Understand how punctuation is used to help you read more easily.
