Dive into the world of sewing with our comprehensive beginners course designed to build your confidence and expand your sewing skills. This course focuses on the fundamental techniques of using paper patterns and mastering the overlocker. Through practical projects, you'll gain hands-on experience and unleash your creativity, setting a solid foundation for your sewing journey.
On this course, you will understand essential sewing terms, tools, and equipment, and understand essential sewing terms, tools, and equipment. Get comfortable with threading, adjusting settings, and using the overlocker to achieve professional finishes. Discover how to choose the right fabrics and prepare them for sewing. Develop foundational skills, including seams, hems, and basic stitches. Apply your skills to create practical and stylish projects such as tote bags, Easy elastic waist skirt etc. Expand your creativity by adding pockets, trims and other decorative elements. You will also get tips for customising and personalising your projects.
By the end of this course, you will have completed several practical projects and gained a solid understanding of how to use paper patterns and an overlocker. You’ll leave with the confidence to tackle more advanced sewing projects, equipped with essential skills and a creative mindset to progress onto another course.
