Course description

This is the perfect course if you are new to sewing and dressmaking and would like to build your confidence. We will start with the most used seams and stitches followed by identifying different types of fabrics and their uses before we move on to choosing a garment to make. Garment patterns can sometimes look confusing so we will take the mystery out by talking about what all those dots, lines and notches really mean! Then, when you are ready, we can start to construct your garment using the stitch and seam knowledge you have gained at the beginning of the course. This is the perfect course if you have previous knowledge of sewing and dressmaking. This, course offers a well-rounded experience that not only supports the development of your practical skills but also encourages personal growth, develop numeracy, English, and digital competencies in an enjoyable and friendly environment. Information, advice and guidance will also be given to enable further course/professional progression to enable you to progress into other study areas or prepare you for the world of employment!
