Entry Levels 1,2,3: If you have never studied this subject before and you’re not confident in your skills, Entry levels are a good starting point.
Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.
Beginners: A perfect introduction if you have no experience and skills in this subject.
Improvers: The next step if you have basic skills or knowledge but want to progress them further.

Course overview
Course description
This course is aimed at learners who may have had some previous experience in using watercolours and wish to increase their skills. Using a range of subjects from nature you will learn composite watercolour techniques to build on your painting week by week. This course is focused on using natural history objects to astound the viewer and the painter.
Our experienced tutor will guide in you using new techniques to enhance your painting using demonstrations and one-to-one support supporting you to reflect on your own work.
This class is perfect for those people who want to develop their painting in a very calm and relaxed environment. ·
On this course you will learn to
Layer different colours of paint to produce the subtle and complex replication of nature;
Paint objects from nature with observation and accuracy
Use a variety of paintbrushes to achieve different effects
Learn to ‘Look and see’ with a critical eye
Express views about yours and others painting
From this course you can progress on to further watercolour courses at the venue or simply enjoy your new skills for your own pleasure.
